At least one person was reportedly shot during a robbery Monday at the Valley Indoor Swap Meet in Panorama City, officials confirmed to KTLA.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of the robbery at Tobias Avenue and Parthenia Street just after 2 p.m.
Details are limited and at least three suspects are still outstanding, with police describing them as three Hispanic males, two of whom were wearing black clothes over gray and one in black over black clothing.
Officers canvassed the area searching for the suspects, believed to be in a blue Jeep that may have last been seen traveling eastbound on Cedros Avenue toward Parthenia Street.
Antonia Dominguez who lives in the area and frequents the swap meet to find bargains told KTLA it was surprising to see a robbery like that during rush hour, when kids are getting out of school and people are getting off work and going out to get something to eat.
“It’s very scary,” she said.
In video footage posted to Instagram from inside the swap meet, nearly a dozen gunshots can be heard as people nearby take cover.
No information was provided on the age and gender of the victim shot. Authorities only said the person was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Police said that the suspects got away with several necklaces and some jewelry taken from the victims.
No further information has been made available.
