How to use L.A. Metro to celebrate at Dodgers World Series parade

As Angelenos come together to celebrate the Dodgers back-to-back World Series titles culminating in a parade Monday in downtown Los Angeles followed by an event at Dodger Stadium, city officials are urging attendees to use public transportation.

“For the second year in a row, LA Metro is excited to offer safe, affordable and convenient service to help Angelenos celebrate the World Series Champions Los Angeles Dodgers,” Metro officials said in a news release.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. from Temple Street and Broadway, continuing along an approximately 45-minute route west on Temple, south on Grand Avenue, west on 7th Street, and north on Figueroa Street before ending at 5th Street.

Fans are encouraged to gather along Grand Avenue, the longest stretch of the parade route, where members of the Dodgers will travel atop double-decker buses.

Following the parade, a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. Fans looking to attend are strongly encouraged to purchase parking with their event ticket as parking will be extremely limited. Tickets can be purchased here.

What to Know Before You Go

· You can access the parade route from seven Metro rail stations:

  • Union Station off the A, B and D Lines as well as Metrolink and Amtrak 
  • Civic Center/Grand Park Station off the B Line or D Line 
  • Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill off the A Line or E Line 
  • Historic Broadway Station off the A Line and E Line 
  • Little Tokyo/Arts District Station off the A Line or E Line 
  • Pershing Square Station off the B Line or D Line 
  • 7th Street/Metro Center Station off the A Line B Line, D Line or E Line 

· Everyone who rides Metro must have their own TAP cards, including children aged six and older. 

· Save time and hassle by loading round-trip fare ahead of time. Digital TAP cards can be downloaded onto mobile phones and fares can be pre-loaded now. https://www.metro.net/riding/fares/how-to-pay/ .   

· Regular Metro fare is $1.75 or $3.50 round-trip. 

· Park at a Metro lot and take Metro Rail into downtown LA. To find the nearest parking, people can visit: https://www.metro.net/riding/parking/ 

Dodger Stadium Express

· Must have a ticket for the Dodger Celebration Event to board the shuttle service. 

· Departures from both Union Station and Harbor Gateway Transit Center begin at 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

· Following the event, return service will end 45 minutes after the celebration. 

Parking

· Union Station parking is expected to be full very early and people are encouraged to take Metro into downtown. To learn more about parking at Metro stations closer to home, people can visit: https://www.metro.net/riding/parking/ 

· Parking at Harbor Gateway Transit Center for the Dodgers celebration is free.   

Metro Bus Many bus lines in Downtown LA will be detoured due to the festivities starting as early as 3:30 a.m. Please visit Metro | Service Alerts for the most up to date information. Metro will direct many of its bus lines serving Downtown LA to four Metro Rail stations, where riders can transfer to trains and continue their trips into DTLA. Those stations will be:

· Union Station (A, B and D Lines) is the main entry point into DTLA from the north or east. 

· Westlake/MacArthur Park (B and D Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the west. 

· Little Tokyo/Arts District (A and E Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the east. 

· Pico Station (A and E Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the west or south.
