A 50-year-old man from San Bernardino County has been arrested in connection with the death of his older brother on Halloween, officials announced.
In a news release, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to a 7:20 a.m. call for “medical aid” in the 12000 block of 6th Street in Yucaipa on Oct. 31.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly what unfolded at the residence, but the 911 caller, Matthew Ludwig, reported that his brother, 55-year-old Larry Adams, was not breathing.
“Deputies responded and found Adams deceased in the living room,” officials said.
During the investigation, deputies learned Ludwig had an outstanding felony warrant and, based on the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death, detained the 50-year-old.
Detectives with the sheriff’s department’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, assumed the case and during questioning, said they found “multiple inconsistencies” in Ludwig’s story.
The 50-year-old was then arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for the alleged murder and the outstanding warrant.
Investigators did not say what the felony warrant was for, nor did they elaborate on the alleged inconsistencies in the man’s story. No further information was provided.
The investigation into the 55-year-old’s death remains active and detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904.
