Teresa Moneo has joined Mike Goodridge’s Good Chaos label as Creative Director and Producer.
Moneo resigned earlier this year from her role as Director of UK Film at Netflix. The company today said Moneo will work closely with Goodridge and head of development Catriona Renton on the company’s slate while “steering the creative path for Good Chaos going forward.”
“I have profound respect for Mike’s worldview and the way he works across the board with the global creative community,” Moneo said in a statement. “We have similar values. I could not be happier than to partner with him at Good Chaos for this new challenge as an active creative producer and the freedom to build on the existing slate.”
At Netflix, Moneo was the first European hire for Original Film strategy. She commissioned and supervised projects from development through production to launch on the service, with primary responsibility for the Italian, Spanish, and pan-European film strategies, along with the UK. Some of her Netflix titles include Paolo Sorrentino’s The Hand of God, J.A. Bayona’s Society of Snow, Edward Berger’s Ballad of A Small Player, which was a Good Chaos production, and the forthcoming Peaky Blinders feature film.
Moneo began her film career at Miramax, where she rose to Senior Vice President of Production, before becoming Senior Vice President, Production, and then Executive Vice President, Production at Focus Features. In January 2016, she joined Pathe Productions as Creative Consultant and took up her Netflix role in March 2019.
“Teresa is one of the best creative minds I know, and I am honored that she has chosen to land in independent production at Good Chaos after leaving Netflix,” Goodridge said in a statement. “She will bring so much wisdom and expertise to bear in the continued growth of the company as well as across our existing and future projects.”
