HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville’s Downtown Rescue Mission is offering turkey boxes that will include all of the Thanksgiving fixings.
You can stop by the Downtown Rescue Mission on November 3- 4 and to pick up and fill out your Turkey Box Slip. On November 3-4, please arrive between 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. or anywhere between 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. to pick up and fill out your Turkey Box Slips.
You must return it on the date and time that is listed on your slip with your photo ID to receive your Thanksgiving Turkey Box.
Additionally the Rescue Mission is also accepting donations from the public to help fill up the boxes. Items that can be donated include the following: Turkeys, corn, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cranberry sauce, gravy, and yams.
Sign-ups will be available while supplies last. Turkey boxes will be distributed the week of Thanksgiving on Nov. 24-25.
“Thanksgiving represents a time of gratitude and abundance, but for those in need, it can highlight what they don’t have,” said Jonathan Walsh, executive director of development at the Downtown Rescue Mission. “Our goal is to provide a way for our neighbors to celebrate the holiday, regardless of their circumstances.”
