JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Three people were arrested on Tuesday after deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia in a child’s backpack, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
On Oct. 28, a JCSO said a deputy drove up on two stopped vehicles in the roadway on County Road 75 in Bridgeport. The deputy said that one of the vehicles had run out of gas.
Two people in the vehicle were found to have outstanding warrants in Jackson County. JCSO said that when the deputy searched the vehicle, they found marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids (also known as spice) and drug paraphernalia in a child’s backpack.
The contraband was alongside the child’s notebook and classwork. Despite this, there was no child in the vehicle.
Three people were arrested and are now facing several charges.
Ravon Talley and Tammy Jenkins, both 49, of Bridgeport, are charged with possession of a controlled substance (spice) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Regan Kilgore, 24, of Whitwell, Tenn., is charged with possession of a controlled substance (spice), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia
JCSO said that the Alabama Department of Human Resources will also be investigating.
