Paramount & UFC Grapple With Lat Am & Oz Expansion
Paramount has unveiled a seven-year, multi-territory expansion of its partnership with the UFC, securing rights to mixed martial arts in Latin America and Australia. Starting in 2026, the agreement builds on the deal the pair struck for UFC events in the U.S., also from next year. “The partnership with Paramount has already been incredible and it just keeps getting bigger and better,” said UFC President and CEO Dana White. “They are now taking on new territories like Latin America and Australia and this thing is just going to continue to grow. Rights in Latin America, which includes MMA hotbed Brazil, comprises 13 marquee numbered events and 30 UFC Fight Nights for all Paramount+ subscribers. In Australia, Paramount+ subs will get the 30 UFC Fight Nights and the prelims for all numbered events. Details on the first UFC fights on Paramount+ in the U.S., Australia and Latin America will follow in “coming weeks.” Cindy Holland, Chair of Direct-To-Consumer, Paramount, said: “Delivering premium UFC programming to audiences on a global scale remains a top priority for Paramount. We are thrilled to expand upon the historic offering of UFC content for Paramount+ subscribers across all plans to more passionate and engaged fans around the world.”
Trinity Content Partners Gets ‘Jitters‘ For AFM
EXCLUSIVE: UK-based Trinity Content Partners has landed worldwide rights to horror feature Jitters. The Aptitude Films title will launch at the AFM next month. Jessica Impiazzi, Richard Wisker, Lauren Budd and Fabrizio Santino star, and Marc Zammit is the director. Per the synopsis, the film follows Detective Collymore, a divorced single father, who investigates the mysterious death of a young woman he refuses to believe was natural. His search leads him to the terrifying force known as Jitters, thrusting him into a nightmarish world where reality fractures, fear reigns, and nothing is as it seems. Shooting took place in London. Notably, AI has been used to create the clown character. “There’s a new clown in town, and his name is Jitters—the world’s first AI clown,” said Zammit. “The film is ambitious, original, and unlike anything you’ve seen before. Jitters has strong franchise potential, and it’s exciting to consider how its world could be developed further. We’ve already had a lot of interest and offers for the project, and Trinity is the perfect home. Their passion matches ours, and I’m delighted to begin this new chapter in my filmmaking journey.”
Blacktop International Gets ‘Pranked’
EXCLUSIVE: Blacktop International has boarded international sales for Prank Night, a horror-thriller from Castle Mountain Entertainment that’s launching at the AFM. The film stars Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps, American Mary), Chad Rook (Joe Pickett, IT: Welcome to Derry), and Katherine Evans (Six, The Mysterious Benedict Society, Supernatural). Pic follows Lex Bowen (Evans), who returns home eager to reconnect with her father, Bill, and reconcile with her stepmother, Joyce (Isabelle) after being away at university, but tragedy strikes soon after in the form of a brutal home invasion. In the aftermath, she discovers sociopathic Rand (Rook) and his gang of punks are responsible and tracks them to their hideout, ready for revenge. However, she hesitates and is forced to flee, as the gang follows her home, leading to a final, blood-soaked showdown. Prank Night is written and directed by R. Trevor Griffiths, with Amy Griffiths and Kyle Cooper serving as producers. Jason Wan Lim and Michael Walker are executive producers. Castle Mountain will handle North American distribution, while JD Beaufils’ Blacktop will launch worldwide sales at the AFM next month.
