For years, the Las Vegas Strip has been packed with people dressed as Disney characters, but come November, visitors will get the real thing.
For the first time ever, maestro Mickey Mouse will take the stage in front of the Fountains of Bellagio for a performance as part of the new collaboration between Disney and Formula 1.
Limited details about the performance have been announced, but Disney shared that maestro Mickey Mouse’s performance will include “enchanting music and thrilling pyrotechnics.”
The rest of the gang, including Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, are slated to make appearances during the Las Vegas Grand Prix next month. The event will take place Nov. 20 -22.
In May, the two companies announced a partnership.
“Disney’s Mickey Mouse is one of the most beloved and recognizable characters of all time, and now fans can look forward to seeing Mickey & Friends in the high-speed world of Formula 1 through experiences, content, and merchandise around the globe,” Disney said in a press release.
The sport has seen enormous growth in recent years, especially among youth. Spurred in part by the success of Netflix’s “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” docuseries, “more than four million children aged 8-12 now actively follow the sport across the EU and US, while 54% of followers on TikTok and 40% on Instagram are now under 25 years old,” the release explained.
F1 has previously embraced other collaborations, including a Lego race at the Miami Grand Prix in May.
