A “frustrated” Wisconsin daycare worker allegedly broke a 3-month-old baby girl’s arm after slamming her into a crib, according to reports and authorities.

Ashley Karschnick, 32, was arrested and charged with one count of physical abuse of a child for the heinous assault at Lily Pad Day Care in Fond du Lac on Oct. 13, according to Fox11.

Detectives from the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee over a report of the infant’s injuries, the Fond du Lac Police Department said in a statement.

After investigating and reviewing surveillance footage, Karschnick was arrested last Monday, cops said.

The daycare worker looked “more and more” frustrated throughout the day in surveillance footage, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WBAY.

Eventually, Karschnick was seen picking up the baby by the torso and slamming her down on a crib, the complaint said.

The force of the slam was enough to cause the crib to sway, while “a thump” could be heard from the impact on the mattress, the document alleged.

The baby continued to scream even after Karschnick went back to the crib eight minutes later to swaddle her, cops said.

She then took the baby out of the crib and laid her on the floor, where the baby’s left arm appeared visibly limp as she continued to cry loudly.

The infant suffered a “minimal displaced spiral fracture of the mid left humeral diaphysis,” consistent with child physical abuse, according to a medical report obtained by the outlet.

Karschnick denied ever trying to hurt the child in an interview with police.

“The safety and well-being of our community’s children will always be our highest priority,” Fond du Lac Lieutenant Nick Hahn said in a statement.

“We understand how deeply troubling cases like this are, and we remain committed to thorough investigations, transparency, and accountability,” Hahn said.

The unhinged caretaker posted $2,500 bond on Oct. 21 after she was arrested and was ordered to have no contact with children under 12 outside of her own, court records show.

She will return to court on Tuesday.
