The longtime manager of San Francisco’s famed Condor Club — a topless bar that helped define North Beach nightlife — was gunned down outside his Santa Rosa home by two former employees-turned-lovers who plotted the attack together, police allege.

Mark Calcagni, 60, was found shot to death around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 in a bike lane along Brookwood Avenue near Birdfoot Way, authorities said.

Police on Saturday announced the arrests of Richard Lund, 43, and Asia Morton, 25, in connection with the killing.

Both once worked under Calcagni at an adult entertainment venue and were romantically involved despite their 18-year age gap, investigators said.

Detectives believe Lund ambushed Calcagni after waiting for him to return home from a late-night shift, then fled the scene.

“Detectives remained persistent, following leads through witness interviews, surveillance footage and digital evidence,” Santa Rosa police said in a statement.

“Their efforts ultimately led to the identification of two suspects.”

Lund was arrested Friday at the couple’s Dublin, Calif., apartment complex, where officers executed a search warrant and seized evidence tied to the slaying, officials said.

A short time later, Morton was taken into custody at San Francisco International Airport after returning from international travel, police said.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive but said the pair planned the attack before the shooting.

Calcagni, a fixture in San Francisco’s adult entertainment scene, managed both the Condor Club and Vanity San Francisco, another nearby jiggle joint, according to police and colleagues.

“He became one of the Mount Rushmores of Broadway,” Wolfgang Welch, who recently took over management duties at Vanity, told the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Condor Club — which opened in 1964 and calls itself America’s first topless bar — confirmed his death in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“It is with profound sorrow and deep shock that we confirm the tragic death of our beloved general manager, Mark Calcagni,” the club said.

“Mark was more than our manager — he was the heartbeat of Condor Club and an integral figure in the North Beach and San Francisco nightlife community.”

The strip club added that his “dedication, leadership and passion over many years shaped who we are today,” and said the loss was felt “throughout the broader North Beach and San Francisco nightlife communities he helped shape and uplift.”

Representatives for the Condor Club declined to comment on the arrests.

The investigation remains active, as police review electronic evidence and interview additional witnesses connected to the case.

The Santa Rosa Police Department urged anyone with information to contact its Violent Crimes Investigations unit at (707) 543-3590.
