(The Hill) – It’s official: Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry are a couple.

The two were photographed in Paris holding hands on Saturday. Perry, celebrating her 41st birthday, attended a cabaret show with Trudeau at the Crazy Horse Paris, according to TMZ.

Perry is continuing her “Lifetimes” tour this week in Budapest, Hungary; Kraków, Poland; Prague, Czech Republic, and Munich. She and Orlando Bloom reportedly called off their engagement in June.

Trudeau, who resigned from office in March, separated from his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire in 2023, after 18 years of marriage.

People, citing a source close to Perry, reported Sunday that the pop star “didn’t expect to fall for somebody so soon” after ending her engagement, but Trudeau “has a great sense of humor, he’s charming and treats her with respect.”

The two were spotted having dinner in Montreal in June, and TMZ published photos of the two on Perry’s yacht off the California coast earlier this month.

Perry is a longtime supporter of Democratic politicians in the U.S., backing then-Vice President Harris in her 2024 presidential bid. Trudeau, a member of the center-left Liberal Party, had sparred with President Trump over the latter’s tariff policies and references to annexing Canada.
