  • Vogue World was hosted in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
  • The runway event raised funds for costume designers affected by Los Angeles wildfires.
  • Hollywood stars like Viola Davis wore stunning fashion, while others like Dakota Johnson did not.

Part of Los Angeles was transformed into a real-life Vogue spread this weekend.

On Sunday night, the fashion magazine hosted its third annual Vogue World event, which raises money for local charities through a celebrity-filled runway show and concert.

This year’s show theme focused on film and style, while ticket proceeds were donated to costume designers affected by Los Angeles wildfires via the Entertainment Community Fund.

Naturally, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, like Viola Davis, arrived in stunning ensembles that proved their status as fashion and movie royalty.

Others, however, like Dakota Johnson, wore outfits that fell flat.

These are the best and worst ensembles we saw.

Demi Lovato mixed classic styles with daring fashion elements, and it worked.

She wore a Ludovic de Saint Sernin set that included a white lace top with ruffles and a matching skirt that reached her knees.

The outfit’s delicate material and bridal color made for a look that was both feminine and chic, while its see-through nature added a daring edge and revealed her black undergarments.

Lovato also wore sharply pointed heels and semi-sheer tights.

Heidi Klum’s neutral outfit needed some tweaks.

She wore a Vivienne Westwood ensemble comprised of a loose-fitting white blazer atop a sheer, cream-colored dress with a floral print.

The latter was wrinkled and didn’t match the bright, white lingerie she wore beneath it.

Klum also sported chunky black heels, thick sunglasses, a patent-leather belt, and a Vivienne Westwood purse with a colorful keychain.

The dark pieces were too harsh to complement the lighter outfit.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan made a memorable entrance with her sparkling yellow gown.

Manish Malhotra custom-made the regal dress, which honored both modern fashion and South Asian design, for the “Never Have I Ever” actor.

It had a structured bodice embellished with pearls and yellow stones, a pleated skirt with exaggerated hips, and off-the-shoulder straps that extended into a hood.

She accessorized with cream-colored pumps and an assortment of gold jewelry.

Dakota Johnson wore a pink dress that was, unfortunately, forgettable.

Johnson is known for her daring style, which often includes plunging necklines and see-through pieces.

Though she looked pretty at Vogue World, her pink Valentino dress fell flat of expectations.

The halter dress had a black mesh panel beneath its beaded top, which distracted from its artistry. Its skirt was also a touch too long for the “Materialists” actor.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph brought the glamour with an old-Hollywood look.

Randolph, who stars in “Only Murders in the Building,” arrived at Vogue World wearing a Christian Siriano design.

It had a strapless top made from black velvet and a puffy gray skirt with a black polka-dot print.

The dress itself was showstopping, but her accessories made it even better. She wore black pumps, sheer gloves, diamond rings, and a round hat atop her light-brown bob hairstyle.

Machine Gun Kelly’s graphic top and trousers didn’t stand out.

Jean Paul Gaultier designed his outfit, which included plum-colored trousers in a baggy fit, two belts at the waist, and a $382 long-sleeved top decorated with a tartan print and a portrait of a woman’s face.

The musician also accessorized with his signature pearl jewelry and a chunky pair of Dr. Martens boots.

Though the outfit was true to his style, it was also pretty simple and didn’t make a lasting impression.

Tracee Ellis Ross wore a dramatic outfit that looked more like a costume.

Her Givenchy look included a tan trench coat worn as a dress and a massive crystal necklace, both of which were fun and looked great on the actor.

Unfortunately, she also wore fringe-covered sandals and a heavily curled blonde wig, which distracted from her outfit and made it look theatrical.

Dylan Sprouse complemented Barbara Palvin’s outfit perfectly.

The actor attended the Vogue event in a traditional black suit and heeled dress shoes.

However, he also added a silver brooch to his lapel, matching the pearlescent shade of his wife’s ensemble.

Palvin donned a shimmering minidress with a corseted bodice and bubbled skirt. She also wore pearl jewelry, split-toe heels, and princess-esque curls.

Viola Davis was one of the sparkliest stars at the event.

The Oscar-winning actor donned a yellow halter gown embellished with hundreds of Swarovski crystals. The couture design from the jewelry brand brought out Davis’ inner glow.

She accessorized in stunning fashion with gold heels, a statement cuff bracelet, and necklaces that matched the straps of her dress.
