Detectives arrested two suspects accused of murdering a man after a bar fight earlier this weekend in Long Beach, officials said Sunday.
The alleged homicide happened around 1:39 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Long Beach Police Department, in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and ultimately pronounced the victim dead at the scene. LBPD still withheld the victim’s identity as of Sunday.
Detectives said the shooting followed an altercation among a group of people, which stemmed from an earlier incident at a local bar. During the confrontation outside on La Verne Avenue, a man allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene in a vehicle, police said.
On Sunday, LBPD announced homicide detectives arrested two suspects related to the murder and identified them as Jason Loving, 41, of Harbor City, and Dasmine Hall, 31, of Compton.
Detectives arrested both Loving and Hall in Compton and transported them to Long Beach City Jail, where they’ve both been booked for murder and bail set at $2 million.
In addition to the murder accusation, LBPD said Loving was booked for “prohibited possessor” and a restraining order violation. Hall was also booked for accessory to murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
