HBO Max raises prices across all subscription plans amid broader streaming hikes

HBO Max is once again raising the cost of streaming. Warner Bros. Discovery, the platform’s parent company, announced Tuesday that all HBO Max plans are increasing in price, marking the service’s third hike in three years.

Annual subscribers will see the increase when their plans renew, while monthly users will be charged the higher rates beginning with billing cycles on or after Nov. 20, 2025.

HBO Max’s latest price hikes follow a wave of increases across the streaming industry. CNBC reported that Disney+ and Hulu raised their prices earlier this month, while NBCUniversal’s Peacock, Apple TV, and Netflix all raised rates earlier in the year.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav signaled in September that higher prices were coming. He also noted that the company plans a stricter crackdown on password sharing.

“The fact that this is quality, and that’s true across our company, motion picture, TV production and streaming quality, we all think that gives us a chance to raise prices,” Zaslav said, according to CNBC. “We think we’re way underpriced.”

As of June 30, Warner Bros. Discovery reported 125.7 million paying users across all of its streaming and linear HBO subscriptions, as reported by The Hill.

HBO Max last raised prices in June 2024, also by around $1 to $2 per tier.
