Daniela Ruah To Direct ‘My Type’ With Sadie Stanley & Jacob Ward
EXCLUSIVE: NCIS: Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah is directing romantic short film My Type, starring Sadie Stanley (Cruel Summer) and Jacob Ward (The Summer House). Inspired by a true story, My Type follows two twenty-somethings whose shared experience with Type 1 Diabetes sparks an unexpected love connection. Shot on 16mm film, the project reunites Ruah with cinematographer Rafael Leyva (Narcos: Mexico). It is produced by Nicole MacNaughton, who is also a manager at Untamed Artists, and her sister, Kimberly Pinkson, under their High High Productions banner. Filming is currently underway on location in Santa Barbara. “We wanted to tell a story that feels both deeply personal and universally hopeful,” said Ruah. “It’s about finding love in unexpected places and seeing the person, not the diagnosis.”
Caroline Williams Will Star In Horror ‘Anathema: The Devil’s Doll’
EXCLUSIVE: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre actress Caroline Williams is leading Anathema: The Devil’s Doll, an indie horror pic that begins shooting this month. The pic, from director Marcel Walz and Anathema LLC, follows what happens when a carefree night of partying takes a sinister turn when a group of friends stumble upon an ancient curse and are forced to survive until dawn as a malevolent force begins hunting them. Principle photography is underway. Also featuring in the cast are Robert Craighead (Strange Darling), Ramiro Leale (Brute 1986), Bix Krieger (VHS: Beyond), Esmeree Sterling (Shaft), Erika K. Marks (Stiletto), Kasia Szarek (Pleasure), Theo Rosenfeld (Witch Hunter), Brandon Papo (American Horror Stories), Monte Pittman (Garden of Eden), Nicholas Olbina (Rhythm is a Dancer), Dean Benfit and Olga Loera. Producers are Brendan Petrizzo and Michael P. Call, with Marc Gotlieb the writer. Call is co-writer. The plan is to release the indie pic in 2026. A first look image can be seen above.
‘Love Island‘ Shows Headed For NBCU Lat Am
Peacock’s Love Island USA and Love Island Games and ITV’s Love Island All Stars are headed to NBCUniversal International Networks & DTC Latin America, which has struck the sizeable deal with distributor ITV Studios. Also included in the package, which comprises 290 hours, are docs Absued By Mum: The Ruby Franke Scandal, about the all-American mom who was convicted as a child abuser, and I Cut Off His Penis: The Truth Behind the Headlines, which follows the Lorena Bobbitt story from three decades ago and other similar instances where the act of penicide has been committed.
