HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Transit is offering music fans a safe, convenient way to get to and from downtown to The Orion Amphitheater for three nights of Billy Strings concerts on Oct. 23-25.
City officials told News 19 that the Orion Express will run every 15 minutes from 4-7 p.m. and will return riders to their destination from 9 p.m. until one hour after the event ends.
You can see the following pick up and drop off locations below:
- Lumberyard Parking Lot (Cleveland Avenue/Meridian Street)
- Garage D (Lincoln Street)
- 106 Jefferson Hotel (Jefferson Street)
- Embassy Suites, AC Hotel and Hampton Inn & Suites (Monroe Street)
Round-trip tickets are $6 per person; seniors and individuals with disabilities can ride for $3.
“There’s tremendous value in being able to get to and from The Orion without having to worry about finding a parking spot or waiting in traffic when the show is over,” said Quisha Bryant, Director of Huntsville’s Parking & Public Transportation Department. “We’re thrilled to provide this option for residents and visitors alike who are fans of Billy Strings.”
Tickets can be purchased here, new users will need to create an account and then verify their information. Once that’s done, you should click “Buy Passes” and select “Adult” under the “Rider” section. Users should then click the “Orion Express to Billy Strings Concert” option to purchase the ticket.
Additionally, you can also choose to go with the old-fashioned way by dropping $6 in the farebox upon boarding; however, there will be no change available.
These three day- concert is apart of Strings’ expansive Fall 2025 tour, which includes international dates across Europe and the UK. Strings is familiar with Huntsville, he has performed at the Orion Amphitheater in 2023 and 2024.
According to the Orion Amphitheatre’s website the three-day concert is now sold out.
