DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A 34-year-old man has been arrested on drug charges after authorities received information stating that drug dealing activities were taking place at a home in Decatur.
During the month of October, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit received complaints of illegal narcotics being distributed from the 300 block of 10th Ave. NW.
Decatur authorities identified the suspect as 34-year-old Brandon Pankey.
Over the course of the investigation, probable cause was determined to obtain a search warrant for Pankey’s home.
On Monday while searching the home, investigators seized the following items:
- a trafficking quantity of opiate pills
- an amount of marijuana in excess of personal use
- THC edibles
- drug paraphernalia used for packaging narcotics for redistribution
- a loaded firearm
- surveillance equipment
- and a large amount of U.S. currency
Decatur Police told News 19 that Pankey was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported and booked into the Morgan County Jail where he is being held on a $270,300 bond. According to police, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
