A wild high-speed crash left two people dead just off the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn late Sunday – and one of the drivers on the run after bolting from the scene, cops said.
The two drivers — one in a white Mercedes Benz and the other riding a black motorcycle — were heading toward exit 7B on the westbound highway when they veered off at a “high rate of speed” and lost control at Shore Parkway and East 7th Street in Sheepshead Bay around 11:30 p.m., authorities and sources said.
Both vehicles careened into three parked cars before the operator of the Mercedes jumped out of his sedan and ran away – leaving his gravely injured front-seat passenger behind, police said.
Photos from the scene show the totaled Benz flipped over on its hood in the middle of the intersection.
The 28-year-old passenger was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he later died, cops said.
The 22-year-old driver of the motorcycle was taken to the same hospital, where he also died from his injuries, police said.
The victims’ names were not officially released pending family notification.
The Benz driver had not been caught hours later, according to police.
