- Actors, musicians, and billionaires attended the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday.
- Stars like Olivia Rodrigo stood out in glamorous ensembles and diamond jewelry.
- Others, including Kim Kardashian, missed the mark with their bold fashion.
I would like to thank the Academy for all of the fun celebrity fashion we saw over the weekend.
On Saturday, a mix of actors, musicians, and billionaires flocked to Los Angeles to attended the Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Most were dressed in stunning styles, from chic gowns to standout suits, but some stars wore outfits that missed the mark.
Here are the best and worst looks seen throughout the night.
Kaia Gerber stunned in white lace.

The model’s sleeveless gown was custom-made by Givenchy. It had a high neckline, a scalloped hem, and a floor-length cape attached behind her shoulders.
The gown was elegant, but also daring thanks to its semi-sheer lace.
Gerber, who is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, completed the look with a short, retro hairstyle and bead earrings.
Hailey Bieber’s exposed corset made her gown look unfinished.

The Rhode founder, who recently sold her skincare company for a reported $1 billion, attended the gala in a brown Schiaparelli design.
It had an exposed corset at the waist, white cups poking out of its sweetheart neckline, a diamond brooch to gather its skirt below the hips, and brown fabric with a moiré pattern.
The gown’s contrasting pieces didn’t work well together, and its overall boldness didn’t match Bieber’s simple accessories, like her tan heels and laid-back hairstyle.
Colman Domingo took a flashy approach, and it worked for him.

Maison Valentino custom-made the actor’s black-and-gold ensemble.
It comprised flare trousers, a cream-colored blouse with a plunging neckline, and a golden brocade jacket. He also wore studded loafers, an assortment of Boucheron rings, and a silver watch.
The outfit was memorable and made a statement, without being too over the top.
Jeremy Strong stood out in red, but not in a good way.

His custom Loro Piana suit included skinny trousers, a blazer with black lapels, and a white collared shirt beneath it.
While its color was a bit strong, it could have worked with a few tweaks.
His pants, for example, seemed a bit long. They would have looked sharper if tailored. His jacket also could have appeared sleeker without its visible seams.
Olivia Rodrigo had a glamorous night in couture.

The “Guts” musician wore an Armani Privé set that perfectly suited her edgy yet feminine style.
Her white tank top was embellished with stones, crystals, and a beaded appliqué, while her long black skirt reached the floor and extended into a short train.
She accessorized with diamond earrings and rings.
Kim Kardashian was unrecognizable thanks to her outfit.

Maison Margiela designed her tan dress, which was just a touch lighter in shade than her skintone.
The strapless design had a corseted bodice with indents at the waist, and a floor-length skirt that connected with elbow-to-wrist sleeves.
The gown was pretty subdued for Kardashian, though her accessories were anything but. She wore a tan hood that covered her face, and a stack of diamond and emerald necklaces wrapped around her neck.
The latter pieces looked more silly than chic and distracted from a potentially strong fashion moment.
Selena Gomez sparkled in a long black gown and matching blazer.

Her strapless gown was the work of Armani Privé. The velvet piece hugged her body and reached the floor, while rhinestones encrusted the top of its bodice.
She also elevated the outfit by adding a black blazer draped over her shoulders and wearing her hair in an updo style.
Diamond jewelry from De Beers added extra sparkle to the look.
Eva Longoria was pretty in pink, but one detail of her dress missed the mark.

The sleeveless Elie Saab design suited Longoria in color and shape. Its baby-pink shade was unique, and its mermaid style celebrated her figure.
However, the gown’s thin cutouts that reached from her chest to the floor cheapened the look of the gown.
She wore the dress with a diamond necklace and a short blowout hairstyle.
Tom Blyth looked sharp in a see-through shirt and dark suit.

The actor’s all-black ensemble was courtesy of Yves Saint Laurent. It comprised loose-fitting trousers, a sheer blouse tucked into a satin cummerbund, and a blazer with satin lapels.
Equally strong was his jewelry. Blyth wore a pendant necklace from Cartier, a small brooch set, and a watch from the French jewelry brand.
Bowen Yang wore a button-embellished suit, but it wasn’t his best look.

The quirky ensemble was designed by Denzil Patrick.
Yang likely would have been one of the night’s best-dressed stars if he’d worn only the button-covered jacket or pants. Wearing them together was a bit overwhelming.
Jewelry designer David Yurman created the comedian’s rings and earring.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph channeled old-school Hollywood.

Taylor Hill/Getty Images
She wore a white Christian Siriano design that looked elegant and epitomized old Hollywood glamour.
The strapless dress had a floor-length skirt and a ruffled band that wrapped around it, which added both texture and shape to the design.
She wore it with Chopard jewels and a curly bob haircut.
America Ferrera wore a semi-sheer gown that needed a few tweaks.

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images
Her Rodarte gown should have worked in theory. It had puffy short sleeves, a square neckline, and an A-line skirt — all of which looked pretty on Ferrera.
Unfortunately, the gown’s see-through mesh material didn’t work with the undergarments worn underneath. Her short bralette wasn’t long enough to connect with her high-waisted shorts, creating what looked like a half-circle cutout that was out of place.
A full bodysuit under the gown could have improved the look.
Demi Moore looked like a princess in a burgundy gown and diamond jewelry.

Valerie Macon/Getty Images
Prada designed her sleeveless gown, which fit Moore perfectly. It had a deep V-shaped neckline, a fitted waistband, a straight skirt, and a pleated train.
Not only did the gown’s shape and color suit Moore, but it also paired perfectly with her jewelry.
She wore a mix of diamond and ruby pieces from Cartier.
