Police in Orange County are investigating an alleged murder-suicide inside a Korean barbecue restaurant Tuesday.
Officers with the LA Habra Police Department responded to a “shots fired” call at Gui Gui Korean BBQ located in a strip mall at 1240 W. Imperial Highway just before 7 p.m.
In a news release, authorities said officers discovered a man and a woman suffering from serious injuries, both of whom were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“Based on preliminary information, the incident appears to be a murder suicide,” police officials said. “At this time, investigators have no indications of any outstanding suspects, and there is no known threat to the public.”
Authorities did not say whether a firearm was recovered at the scene, nor did they indicate which one of the deceased was the alleged shooter. It is also unclear if other restaurant customers witnessed the ordeal.
The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
While the investigation remains active, authorities are asking anyone with information to contact La Habra Police Department Detective N. Pineda at 562-383-4353.
