JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says two people were arrested over the weekend in separate incidents that led to gun-related charges.
On Saturday, JCSO said deputies responded to a shots-fired call on Highway 72 in Woodville. The sheriff’s office said it was found that shots had been fired through a door and into a home. The people in the home were not injured.
The sheriff’s office said Ashlee Porna, 36, of Woodville, was taken into custody on the scene and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. JCSO said she has since been released on a $15,000 bond.
Then, on Sunday, the sheriff’s office said a deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 177 in Flat Rock due to the driver having an outstanding probation warrant. During the arrest of the driver, later identified as Patrick Blake Roberts, 36, of Flat Rock, a deputy located a firearm on his person and two more in the vehicle.
JCSO said Roberts is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous criminal conviction, and drug paraphernalia was also located in the vehicle.
Roberts was arrested and charged with certain person forbidden from possessing firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation warrant. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail with no bond.
