EXCLUSIVE: Steve Buscemi, Fred Armisen and Marc Maron will make guest appearances on The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza when the upcoming show bows on Adult Swim.
Announced last August, the live-action series was created by and stars Jordan Mendoza. It will follow a very scared man as he navigates a barrage of absurd, terrifying, and hilarious dreamscapes. Deadline has seen the roster of stars making guest appearances, which also includes Lake Bell, Clea DuVall, Thomas Lennon and Wanda Sykes.
Boston native Mendoza directs and executive produces the show. It is billed as a blend of sharp comedy and surreal horror that dives deep into its protagonist’s subconscious.
Avalon (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) produces The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza and also distributes the show. It will be on its slate at MIPCOM, and the guest-star news lands on the eve of the market. Avalon will also be shopping feel-good BBC and RTE drama Leonard and Hungry Paul, starring Laurie Kynaston (The Sandman), Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Derry Girls) and Alex Lawther (Alien: Earth). It is generating pre-market heat, not least as Julia Roberts has come on board to narrate.
Mendoza is currently a supervising producer on Hulu’s Chad Powers and was a writer and producer on Prime Video’s Overcompensating. On screen, he stars in Netflix’s Neon and appears in the Sony feature No Hard Feelings.
