Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez has been released from an Indianapolis hospital and promptly booked into the Marion County Jail following his arrest in a stabbing incident last week.
Sanchez had his mugshot taken and was fingerprinted, requirements that had to be met before he could leave Indianapolis. xclusive video from FOX59/CBS4 shows the former NFL star walking into the Marion County Community Justice Campus Sunday morning wearing a sling on his arm. His first court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 5, according to The Athletic.
Sanchez is facing a felony charge along with three misdemeanors after an altercation last Saturday in which truck driver, Perry Tole, age 69, and Sanchez, age 38, fought in an alley between two Indianapolis hotels. The fight led to Sanchez being stabbed and Tole suffering “significant and very severe injuries,” Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears said. Tole also has filed a civil suit against Sanchez and Fox Sports’ parent company Fox Corporation.
Sanchez told Fox59/CBS4 reporter Max Lewis on leaving the hospital that is “focused on his recovery”. He thanked the first responders and hospital staff, saying his trauma surgeon “saved my life” and that he is recovering slowly.

Sanchez was arrested at the hospital last Saturday on counts of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all which are misdemeanors. A felony battery charge causing serious injury, a level 5 felony later was added by prosecutors. That count could see Sanchez facing 1-6 years in prison if convicted.
Mark Schlereth, a three-time Super Bowl champion with Denver and Washington, will replace Sanchez as the game analyst on Fox’s telecast of Seahawks-Jaguars at 1 pm ET/10 am PT Sunday, according to Fox Sports PR’s post on X.
