If you’re ready to carve out some Halloween fun, Discovery Cube Orange County’s Pumpkin Palooza has returned with two floors of spooky science, sustainability and pumpkin-powered excitement.

Presented by OC Waste & Recycling, the family-friendly festival runs on weekends through Oct. 26 and features everything from bumper cars to composting lessons — plus the all-new Pumpkin Path, an interactive maze filled with games and surprises.

KTLA’s own “Pumpkin Princess,” Erin Myers, joined the festivities in Santa Ana, where kids and families can explore hands-on exhibits and learned how even Halloween can be sustainable.

“So that’s what we do best here at Discovery Cube — we make learning fun,” said Cherie Whyte, the center’s vice president of marketing. “So here you can enjoy all the fun, festive activities, but you learn so much about it too.”

Kids at the event can try out the organics maze, sorting what’s compostable and what’s not.

“I’m trying to figure out what’s organic and what’s not organic,” one young visitor explained. “It’s so much fun to just learn.”

The fun continues upstairs at the Pumpkin Palooza Dance Party, where fan-favorite Jack-o-Lynn, a 20-foot DJ pumpkin, spins Halloween hits while kids dance and learn about healthy living.

Pumpkin Palooza runs Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 26. Tickets and details are available at discoverycube.org.
