The television industry will get a chance to pay respect to one of its greats, top agent Bob Broder, at a memorial next month. The event, honoring Broder who died Sept. 23 from cancer, will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 10:30 AM at Warner Bros. Studios’ Steven J. Ross Theater. Invitations to the private memorial are expected to go out shortly.
Broder spent the last 13 years of his career on the Warner Bros. lot as an executive at longtime client Chuck Lorre‘s company, Chuck Lorre Productions, which has been based at the studio for a quarter century.
Lorre is paying tribute to Broder in the first of his signature Vanity Cards to run following his collaborator’s death. It will accompany the Season 2 premiere of CBS’ Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which airs Oct. 16.
The In Memoriam card, which features a photo of Broder with his “lap lab” Lola Pearl, marks Lorre’s first public comments about the agent and executive’s death.
“For twenty-five years, his presence guaranteed there was at least one grown-up in the room,” Lorre said, referencing Broder’s proverbial wisdom, industry knowledge and business savvy.
