“Luck is just when preparation meets opportunity.” Those words from Rachel Sennott‘s Maia in her new HBO comedy series I Love LA. HBO released the first trailer Wednesday for the comedy series created, written by and starring Sennott.

I Love LA revolves around an ambitious friend group that navigates life and love in LA.

More sage advice from Sennott’s Maia: “Hustle until your idols become your rivals.”

In addition to Sennott, Jordan Firstman also stars as Charlie, Josh Hutcherson as Dylan, Odessa A’zion as Tallulah, and True Whitaker as Alani. Guest stars include Leighton Meester, Moses Ingram, Lauren Holt, Elijah Wood, Quenlin Blackwell, Josh Brener, Tim Baltz, Froy Gutierrez, and Colin Woodell.

I Love LA is created and executive produced by Sennott; executive produced by Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri, and Lorene Scafaria. Directors include Sennott, Lorene Scafaria, Bill Benz, and Kevin Bray.

The series premieres Sunday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 pm on HBO and will stream on HBO Max. New episodes of the eight-episode series will drop weekly leading up to the finale on Sunday, Dec. 21.
