Twice as nice.

A Connecticut man defied near-impossible odds by hitting the $1 million jackpot on scratch-off tickets just months after winning another eye-popping sum from scratch-offs.

Shelley Suttles, a one-million-dollar lottery winner, smiles.

Shelley Suttles, of Bridgeport, was running a few quick errands at a local convenience store on Sept. 30 and decided on a whim to grab an Ultimate 7s scratch game ticket at the checkout, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The ticket turned out to win him the whopping seven-figure top prize.

“I almost passed out,” Suttles told the CT Lottery.

“I scratched off the box and saw a million dollars. I’ve never seen a million dollars on a ticket before. I picked up the phone and told my sister, and she started screaming. She couldn’t believe it either.”

Just over the summer, Suttles also beat the odds and cashed in on a $100,000 prize while playing the Cash5 lottery.

The odds of winning the $1 million Ultimate 7’s prize are 1 in 1,300,000, and the odds of winning the $100,000 Cash 5 prize are 1 in 324,632, according to the state lottery.

Overall, the odds of winning any jackpot twice in a year are exceptionally rare.

The lucky fella said he plans to use his newly acquired cash to pay off some bills and donate to his church.

The winning store, Grand Package Store, will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, the authority said.

In 2023, a Brooklyn man won $10 million on a scratch-off — a little over a year after he won his first $10 million playing the New York Lottery.
