LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — It’s race week in Las Vegas with NASCAR coming to town for the South Point 400 Cup Series race and the Focused Health 302 Xfinity Series race.
This is the first race of the Round of 8, with half of the playoff drivers having been eliminated since the playoffs began in August.
In each series, the eight remaining drivers are competing for four spots in their respective winner-take-all championship races in Phoenix the weekend of Nov. 1.
How to watch the South Point 400 on TV
Sunday’s Cup Series race will be nationally televised, with the green flag set to drop at 2:30 p.m. PT on USA Network.

The Xfinity Series Focused Health 302 takes place Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT and can be watched on the CW network.
Tickets for NASCAR in Las Vegas
If you’re looking to get tickets for Sunday’s South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, you’re in for a pretty affordable afternoon. Seats start at $56 and can be had in just about any section for under $200. Kids’ tickets cost $12.
All of the seating is along the front stretch of the tri-oval racetrack, giving spectators a great view of the start/finish line or pit road, depending on which section they’re in.
If you’re looking to attend Saturday’s Xfinity race, tickets start at $32 and don’t go above $88.
Weather forecast for NASCAR race weekend in Las Vegas
It’s shaping up to be another gorgeous weekend in Las Vegas, with high temperatures forecast to be right around 80 degrees.
While there is a chance of rain on Saturday during the Xfinity race, Sunday afternoon’s Cup Series race looks clear.
As with any outdoor activity in Las Vegas, be prepared for direct sunlight for most of the afternoon. However, this should be less of an issue with Saturday’s race being in the evening and sunset behind the stands.
Which drivers are still in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs?
Only eight of the 16 qualifying drivers remain in the Cup Series playoffs, with this being the first of three races for them to qualify for the finals.
The eight drivers remaining are:

- Ryan Blaney
- Kyle Larson
- William Byron
- Christopher Bell
- Chase Elliot
- Chase Briscoe
- Joey Logano
If one of these drivers wins the race, they will be guaranteed a spot in the championship; otherwise, it’s going to come down to who has the most points after the next three races.
Which drivers are still in the Xfinity playoffs?
The Xfinity series follows a similar playoff structure, with eight drivers still competing to make the championship four.

The cut to four will take place after Oct. 25’s race in Martinsville, Virginia.
