EXCLUSIVE: AGI Entertainment Media & Management has hired longtime WME partner Josh Bider for the role of Executive Vice President of Talent Management, Deadline has learned. Joining the management and production company after two decades at the Big 3 agency, he’s set to lead AGI’s newly opened Los Angeles office.
The company also announced today that Brandon Stein, a manager and producer with a 10+ year history at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, has joined as Vice President.
Bider reps a mix of lifestyle talent, unscripted and celebrity-based production companies and documentarians. Clients joining him in the move include world-renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, chef and TV personality Andrew Zimmern and his production company Intuitive Content, Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, filmmakers Michael John Warren (Jay-Z’s Fade to Black, LO-LA: The Story of Lalapalooza), and Rebecca Halpern (Mastermind: To Think Like a Killer), as well as Michelin-starred restaurateur Joe Bastianich and Blue Zones creator Dan Buettner.
Coming to AGI after 10+ years at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Stein brings an expertise in comedy and working with digital creators, along with a noteworthy roster of clients including newly hired SNL scribe Jo Sunday, emerging producer Carter Hambley (a co-producer on Happy Gilmore 2), Yamaneika Saunders (Hulu’s Life & Beth), Barbershop scribe Raina Morris, content creator Brad Podray, writer-producers Jodi Lennon and Dan Chamberlain (CNN’s Have I Got News For You), and more.
The hiring of both Bider and Stein marks a significant expansion for AGI in talent management, particularly in the comedy, documentary and culinary spaces, and highlights the company’s growing emphasis on scripted, unscripted, and lifestyle content on all platforms. The new additions also reinforce their bid to be at the forefront of the influencer economy, as the company continues to evolve with the ever-changing media landscape.
In a statement on the hirings, AGI CEO Kenneth Slotnick told us, “Josh and Brandon’s combined experience, unparalleled industry connections, and dedication to fostering talent will be invaluable as we continue to expand our footprint. We are ensuring that AGI remains at the cutting edge of talent representation and production.”
Added Partner Brian Stern, who has experience working with both new hires — Stein, at Brillstein, and Bider, at WMA — “I couldn’t be happier to be working with my former colleagues again. An awesome addition for AGI.”
AGI Entertainment is part of the Yucaipa Companies, which has investments across the entertainment industry between Independent Talent Group in the UK, 101 Studios, New Republic Pictures, Equity Sports, ISE Worldwide and more. Known for exec producing Shane Gillis’ hit Netflix comedy series Tires, the company is currently in pre-production on its third season and just saw the release of client Jordan Jensen’s Netflix special Take Me with You.
On the company’s expansion into Los Angeles, Yucaipa exec David Barnes said, “For over a decade, AGI has set the bar for exceptional artist management and producing. We are thrilled with their substantial growth during a shifting media marketplace.”
