PHOENIX — A home in the north Scottsdale neighborhood of Desert Mountain sold for a record-breaking $14 million, according to a release from Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.

The price of the five-bedroom, 11,272-square-foot home is a record for the Desert Mountain neighborhood.

“This is an incredible area tucked away in north Scottsdale and we have been honored with representing multiple homes in the area,” Global Real Estate Advisor Tami Henderson said in the release. “This one in particular was exquisite in its architecture, design and location overlooking the Valley.”

  • Paradise Valley property to be razed for $30M compound with 20-car garage
  • $9.5M Biltmore Estates mansion sale shatters previous record

It is described as a resort-style, hillside estate at 9140 E. Grapevine Pass. The home’s main living areas include a five-car garage, two executive offices, a game room, a glass-walled gourmet outdoor kitchen and an indoor-outdoor bar for entertaining. They are all located on the same level.

The lower level, which is accessible by an elevator, is an entertainment hub with a two-lane bowling alley, home theater and powder room.

The estate also has a pool with a rooftop waterfall and a guest wing with its own lounge and 667-square-foot casita.

Other expensive homes in Arizona

The sale was just the latest in an expanding luxury real estate market in the Valley.

A home in Paradise Valley sold for $33.5 million on Jan. 31, setting a record for the most expensive home in the state.

Another home was sold for $9.5 million on Sept. 4 in the Biltmore Estates. It was the most expensive home ever sold in the Biltmore community.
