Deputies and loved ones are asking for the public’s help in searching for a missing Compton man and his 11-month-old daughter, officials announced Saturday.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 33-year-old DeMarques Pearl and his toddler, Aaliyah Ferguson, were last seen on Oct. 3 around 10 a.m. on the 200 block of West 74th Street in the city of Los Angeles.

Officials did not specify whether the two were traveling by foot or vehicle, but LASD said the critically missing pair may be en route to Louisiana.

Authorities describe Aaliyah as an 11-month-old Black female who stands 2 feet tall, weighs about 22 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple and white Minnie Mouse shirt, per LASD.

Aaliyah’s father, DeMarques, is described as a 33-year-old Black male who stands 5 feet and 6 inches tall, weighs about 260 pounds and has brown eyes, short brown hair and a beard. According to the missing persons report, DeMarques was last seen wearing a black shirt.

LASD said family members are concerned for the pair’s well-being and that any information may help.

Anyone with possible information is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Compton Station Detectives at 310-605-6500.  To provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477) or by using the website lacrimestoppers.org.
