This is even lower than taking candy from a baby.

A heartless Brooklyn crook showed he was willing do anything for some quick cash when held up a 10-year-old boy at knife-point and forced the youngster to fork over $20 from his beloved piggy bank, cops said.

The menacing stranger threatened little Amir Nur, 10, near his Crown Heights home Wednesday after following the pre-teen home from school.

He terrified the boy so much with his weapon and demands for cash that the child went inside his home, got his bank and came out with the money, which he had earned for doing chores and good behavior and kept in a bank that read “Someone who lives me went to Las Vegas” on it.

“The man followed him to our doorway, Amir then went to his piggy bank and took some cash out and brought it back to the man, who then left,” Nicole Edite, Amir’s mom, told The Post.

“He realized that the man had a knife and he was frightened, and just decided to not give any push back,” Edite said. “He was like ‘Mom I just wanted to get him away’.”

The disgusting crime happened as Edite was out exchanging her phone.

The sixth grader had only been allowed to walk home alone for one week before the incident. Now, Edite has to make sure he’s accompanied until the perp is caught.

“He’s a bit disappointed that he’s not able to go to school on his own,” Edite said.

The boy told reporters he felt he had no choice but to surrender his savings.

“That’s why I complied. Because if they have a knife on them, I don’t have anything for me. And he’s bigger than me and he’s taller than me and he has a weapon,” Nur told ABC News.

While the NYPD searches for the cowardly thief, Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry gifted Nur an iPad and paid back his lost pocket money. The 10-year-old usually earns his pocket money by getting good grades, cleaning his room, and waking up for school on time.

“What type of person are you to go and rob a ten-year-old?” Daughtry said to WABC.

Edite has lived in Crown Heights for 20 years, and says the neighborhood has been getting safer.

“It’s definitely a shock to know that he’s just crossing the street in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon and someone would just approach him in such an aggressive manner,” Edite said.

“I did feel safe, but now I’m having doubts.”
