HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, drops at midnight on October 3.

She announced the news on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her fiancé (then boyfriend) Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.

Target is rolling out a special “midnight release” program at select Targets around the country. One of those stores is the Target in South Huntsville at 2750 Carl T Jones Drive SE, and it is the only Target in North Alabama taking part in this event.

“Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is already the year’s biggest music moment, and we’re giving fans even more reasons to get excited. From exclusive vinyl and CD editions available only at Target to midnight releases and curated music experiences in our stores, we’re proud to be a destination where fans can discover, connect, and take home something truly special,” Cassandra Jones, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Fun101, Target said.

And for many, the shopping trip itself is part of the fun, an in-person, social experience that adds another layer to the excitement of a new Taylor Swift release.

Starting at 10 p.m. today, fans can line up by the electronic section, and Target team members will distribute physical tickets that reserve a spot to purchase the album at midnight.

You can continue browsing the store, then return to a designated queue by 11:45 p.m. to make your purchase exactly at midnight.

Target will offer exclusive editions only found at their stores: a special Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer vinyl, and various CD versions with poster inserts.
