A Sprawling Estate Near Mulholland Drive

The filmmaker David Lynch’s private compound in Los Angeles is on the market for $15 million eight months after his death at age 78.

The property, a nearly 2.5-acre hillside enclave along Senalda Road in Hollywood Hills, was where Mr. Lynch lived and worked for more than three decades. It includes five main structures, totaling around 11,000 square feet of interior space, with a combined 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

Mr. Lynch kept his production company at the compound, editing films like “Mulholland Drive” (which, incidentally, is nearby). He even used the exterior of a large Brutalist structure near the road, where he had a studio and loft-style art space, for the 1997 film “Lost Highway.”

Anchoring the Lynch compound is the midcentury modern Beverly Johnson House, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and was designed in 1963 by Frank Lloyd Wright Jr., a son of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Eric Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandson, designed a guesthouse and pool.

Mr. Lynch was known for dark, surreal movies and TV shows, including the series “Twin Peaks” and the mystery thriller film “Blue Velvet.”
