There will be no second season of Hulu‘s multi-camera comedy series Mid-Century Modern. Series co-creator/executive producer Max Mutchnick revealed the cancellation in an Instagram post, which you can see below.

“Ten great episodes… Not enough,” he wrote next to a photo of the show’s main cast and creatives. “But we loved making every single one of them. We’re gonna miss our very special show. Thanks to everyone who watched.”

The news comes months after Mid-Century Modern premiered in Match and as the options on the cast were about the expire.

Mid-Century Modern, Will & Grace creators Mutchnick and David Kohan and Ryan Murphy, stars Matt Bomer, Nathan Lane and Nathan Lee Graham. It also marked Linda Lavin‘s final role before her death in December.

Lavin had filmed seven of the series’ 10-episode order at the time of her death, and the creative team had to regroup and rework the remaining episodes while grieving her loss.

Mid-Century Modern follows three gay gentlemen (Lane, Bomer, Graham) of a certain age who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs, where the wealthiest one lives with his mother (Lavin). As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done.

The show stars Lane as Bunny Schneiderman, Bomer as Jerry Frank, Graham as Arthur Broussard and Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman, Bunny’s mother. Guest stars include Pamela Adlon, Vanessa Bayer, Kimberly Coles, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Judd Hirsch, Richard Kind, Stephanie Koenig, Billie Lourd, Esther Moon Wu, Jaime Moyer, Cheri Oteri, Rhea Perlman, Zane Phillips and more.

Lane and Bomer also executive produced the series, along with James Burrows, who served as director. 20th Television was the studio.

Here is Mutchick’s post, featuring a photo from the set of Bomer, Lane, Lavin and Graham as well as Mutchnick, Burrows and Kohan.
