Either David Frankel has taken a guerrilla approach to directing The Devil Wears Prada 2, or Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci have gone full method.

On Saturday, the actors cosplayed as their characters Miranda Priestly and Nigel Kipling as they sat front row at Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week show for their spring/summer 2026 collection.

In a video shared by Vogue‘s TikTok, the pair can be seen taking their seats in the front row, next to Naomi Campbell. Streep also greeted her character’s apparent inspiration in another clip, mingling backstage with global editorial director Anna Wintour.

The surprise outing could be for a scene from the highly-anticipated sequel—or just a well-timed publicity stunt—as they were joined by Simone Ashley, who Deadline exclusively announced joined the cast in July.

Based on the book by Wintour’s former assistant Lauren Weisberger, The Devil Wears Prada (2006) stars Anne Hathaway as Andy, a recent college graduate desperate for a job in journalism when she is hired as the assistant to Streep’s diabolical Miranda, a position that proves detrimental to her personal life and sanity.

Last year, Disney tapped the original movie’s screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna to pen a sequel, which has been in production this summer in New York City. Original producer Wendy Finerman is back with Frankel returning to the director’s chair.

Meanwhile, Wintour announced in June that she’s stepping aside as Vogue‘s editor-in-chief after nearly 40 years, but she will stay on as chief content officer for Conde Nast, as well as global editorial director at Vogue.
