Tilda Swinton Set For London Critics’ Circle Honor

The London Critics’ Circle will fete veteran actor Tilda Swinton with its honorary Rose Bowl for Distinguished Service to the Arts award. Swinton will be handed the award on October 17th at a celebratory luncheon held in her honor. Since its inception in 1988, the Rose Bowl has been awarded annually by the Critics’ Circle to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the performing arts. Voted for by members across all branches of the Circle—including Dance, Drama, Film, Music, Visual Arts, Architecture, and Books. The Critics’ body has said the award reflects the breadth of achievement across the cultural landscape. Previous recipients have included Sir David Lean, Sir John Mills, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Helen Mirren, Dame Emma Thompson, David Hockney, and Mike Leigh.

MOTUS Boards Worldwide Sales On Supernatural Thriller ‘States Of Mind’

International sales agency MOTUS picked up worldwide rights to supernatural thriller States of Mind. The film will be introduced to global buyers with screenings at the upcoming American Film Market. The film follows a group of international psychics competing for both cash and caché, only to find themselves trapped in a supernatural nightmare. Set in a luxurious, remote country manor, the film delivers an intelligent, character-driven ride, laced with body swaps, demons, and possessed possums.

Bournemouth Film Festival Sets Line-Up

The Bournemouth International Film Festival (BIFF) will take place at the Hilton Bournemouth from October 3 to 4. The festival will screen over 70 films. Christopher Eccleston serves as a Festival Patron and will open the festival. The festival has said over 175 projects were submitted for this year’s event. The Hook, directed by Thomas David Beatty, will world premiere at the festival. “The quality of all the submissions has been exceptional, which made the process of shortlisting them one of the hardest things I have had to do,” Festival Director Steve McCarten said in a statement.
