The wannabe mugger who was shot by an off-duty NYPD cop when he tried to rob her and her husband on a Penn Station train platform was charged in the stick-up, cops said Thursday.

Jahmar Stewart, 32 — who has five prior arrests — allegedly attempted to rob the husband and wife, both off-duty police officers, on a Long Island Railroad platform during evening rush hour Wednesday, authorities and sources said.

Stewart is still being treated at the hospital.

The quick-acting woman opened fire, hitting the suspect near LIRR Track 18, at around 7 p.m., law enforcement sources said.

Stewart was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

By Thursday morning, cops confirmed that Stewart – who was still being treated at the hospital – had been charged with attempted robbery and assault.

Stewart, whose last known address is a Brooklyn homeless shelter, was most recently arrested back on Aug. 8 for allegedly attacking another resident at the facility on Albany Avenue, police said.

The 43-year-old victim was gathering his belongings around 11:15 p.m. when he got into an argument with Stewart, who slugged him multiple times, according to police.

The victim was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center for treatment of scratches to his face and shoulder, cops said.

Before that, Stewart was busted on a petit larceny charge July 16 for allegedly stealing fruit juice from a bodega on East New York Avenue, authorities said.
