Chilling videos have reportedly emerged of attempted Donald Trump assassin Thomas Crooks dry-firing a handgun while in a tactical stance in his home.
The short but jarring undated clips were purportedly posted online by Crooks, 20, but were later “scraped” from the internet after he shot and nearly killed Trump, then the Republican presidential nominee, according to snippets obtained by Candace Owens and published on her podcast Wednesday.
Cell phone video showed Crooks record a handgun that was placed on top of a quilt of his neatly made bed.
He then flips the phone, revealing a sniveling and skinny Crooks in athletic-wear in his sparsely decorated bedroom that featured a Marvel superheroes poster, video showed.
Crooks picks up the handgun, which is blurred by the publishers, and enters into a tactical stance as he dry-fires at a presumably imaginary target off-camera.
Another shorter video also allegedly posted by online Crooks showed nearly the same practiced gunplay with an even more menacing demeanor.
Crooks holds the handgun, this time in front of what appears to be a sheet of target paper marked with blue circles — taking the same practiced stance with the firearm as he stands perfectly still.
The would-be assassin’s digital footprint has revealed that Crooks had a twisted obsession with assassinations, mass shootings, guns and explosives.
An investigation of a laptop owned by Crooks that was analyzed by the FBI showed the attempted assassin made a Google search for ‘How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?’ on July 6, 2024, just one week before he fired at Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Former FBI director Chris Wray claimed to Congress that Crooks was not on the radar of federal law enforcement organizations prior to the Butler assassination attempt.
Crooks researched Ethan Crumbley, the Oxford High School shooter who killed four students and injured seven on November 30, 2021.
He also researched other mass casualty events and reportedly looked up how to build explosives, a US official told CNN last year.
Crooks made his last search just before he was fatally shot in the head — searching for pornography on his encrypted Samsung phone, according to the FBI.
Previous reporting on the gunman’s search history comports with internet history published by Owens in her report Tuesday, which she claimed included searches for “Deadliest Mass Shooting in World,” “Pulse nightclub police body camera,” “Fertilizer bomb,” and “How to make a Molotov cocktail.”
The purported internet history also contained violent comments on YouTube videos — including one 2019 statement in which Crooks advocated for chopping the head off “Trump hating democrats,” according to the report.
