Summary

  • Alo’s first sneaker collaboration is with Golden State Warriors guard Jimmy Butler, who put his own spin on the brand’s Recovery Mode shoe.
  • The vegan leather sneaker, designed for performance recovery, features a new embossed monogram pattern and will be available on October 1.

Following the release of its viral “luxury” leather bag, yoga-turned-athleisure label Alo is not done pulling out new tricks. The brand’s latest campaign centers on its first-ever sneaker collab, tapping Golden State Warriors guard Jimmy Butler to tweak its Recovery Mode sneaker.

The 2024-born silhouette, Alo’s first footwear model, is seen in a white leather colorway and rubber gum soles. While keeping it simple, Butler’s version of the sneaker gets a slightly elevated sensibility from an embossed monogram pattern on the overlays.

Engineered for performance recovery and designed for a clean, versatile look, Alo’s Recovery Mode features a high-rebound foam insole, supporting balance and pressure points throughout wear. Composed of vegan leather and recycled components, the shoe’s abrasion-tested rubber is designed for durability.

In a statement shared with WWD, Jimmy Butler said, “This is my go-to for after a game, when I’m making coffee, playing dominoes, relaxing, just being around my people and my family – all the stuff that I do off court that makes it so that I can go out there and perform on court. So being able to put my own spin on this shoe, I had fun doing it.”

Set for release on October 1, the Alo Recovery Mode x Jimmy Butler will be available exclusively online at Alo.com and at Alo’s Beverly Hills, Valley Fair, and Miami Design District stores.
