A 24-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela who duped an Ohio high school into believing he was a teen student for over a year now faces decades in federal prison after copping to the twisted offense.
Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra pleaded guilty on Monday to multiple charges after forging immigration documents and claiming to be a 16-year-old when he enrolled at Perrysburg High School in Toledo in January 2024, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
Prosecutors also said the deranged dad — who crossed the border in 2019 and was only allowed to stay in the US until March 2020 — illegally possessed a firearm he bought using the fake documents.
The shocking scheme began in November 2023 when the accused fraudster contacted the school, claiming he had been trafficked from his home country and said he was born on Dec. 2, 2007, according to court documents seen by 13 ABC.
Sierra told school officials his name was Anthony Labrador — and spent 14 months attending classes and reportedly participating in sports programs with kids nearly a decade younger, according to a letter Perrysburg Schools Superintendent Thomas Hosler sent to parents and community members.
The suspected con artist also lived with a local family — who reportedly believed they were helping a homeless teen — after guardianship was granted by the Wood County Juvenile Court.
But the family eventually became suspicious about Sierra’s real age in May and contacted the school, saying they had received information that he was a grown man with children, Holser said.
His guardians later found a prepaid cellphone, a fake Michigan ID with a 1999 birthdate, and a gun with three loaded 9mm magazines under his mattress, the police reports showed, the outlet reported.
Sierra was slapped with an ICE detainer after his arrest.
Prosecutors said he used his fake birthdate to apply for and receive a slew of documents, including an Ohio driver’s license, a Social Security number, and federal Temporary Protected Status from US immigration authorities.
Sierra pleaded guilty to firearm possession by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making false statements during the purchase of a firearm, and two counts of making or using false writings or documents.
He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
Sierra is set to be sentenced on Jan. 23, 2026.
