Yes to dinner; no to aiding and abetting.
Tori Spelling once went on a pleasant group date with notorious Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen, but that didn’t mean she wanted to partake in wild drugs.
The daughter of late legendary TV and movie producer Aaron Spelling took to her “misSPELLING” podcast Monday to explain how the Sheen date came to be.
In the mid-’90s, Tori was living with her friend Kevin, who later became her dentist, in a Los Angeles condo a few floors above Sheen’s. According to the actress, Kevin was not sober at the time, and he and Sheen “partied together.”
“Kevin said, ‘Charlie wants to ask you on a date,’” Tori, 52, told guest Amy Sugarman, admitting that she was nervous” and “didn’t want to go alone.”
Kevin told the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star that his parents, whom Tori and Sheen both knew, would be joining.
The foursome went to an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills.
“We were just getting to know each other,” Tori recalled of her conversations with Sheen, 60, emphasizing that Kevin was “trying to set [them] up.”
“And what I learned that night is how unimaginably intelligent [Sheen] is,” she marveled. “Off the charts. And his humor was just so — talk about charming, smart, funny, witty. Like, this guy was it.”
Tori described the outing as a “good moment” with the “Two and a Half Men” star. However, she went on to detail the “bad moment.”
“I get a call: ‘Come downstairs. Charlie’s having this party. You have to come here, please,’” she recalled, adding that she and her friends agreed to go “for one second.”
When Sheen opened the door to his condo, he allegedly offered Tori a crack pipe.
“It was dark, and there were bodies everywhere,” she told Sugarman, confessing that she was scared.
“I was like, ‘No, thanks.’ And he was like, ‘What would you like? We have every drug,’” she claimed.
Later that year, Tori explained that the US Marshals had a warrant out for Sheen’s arrest after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend at the time, Brittany Ashland.
Tori didn’t know any of those details, just that “they were actively searching for him. Like, helicopters.”
She explained, “All I know is I was standing in my laundry room, and Kevin comes in and says, ‘T, I need to ask you a favor.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, of course, anything.’ And he’s like, ‘Can we hide Charlie?’”
According to Tori, Kevin insisted that “no one [would] know” because he would “sneak him into” her laundry room via the service elevator in the back hallway.
But she instantly shut down the plan, responding, “Are you f–king kidding me? No! I’m not doing that. … I’m sorry. I think he’s a really great guy.”
Tori said Sheen was eventually arrested in the building (he was placed on probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge) and that Kevin tried to make her feel guilty for not assisting.
The actor recounted the same story in his new memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” writing, “Tori felt bad for me but viewed my situation as radioactive and didn’t wanna go anywhere near it. Couldn’t blame her, I suppose. But f–k, man. Who knows what story I’d be banging out right now if the heir to Daddy’s throne said ‘yes.’”
Sheen ended up violating his probation in 1998 after suffering a near-fatal cocaine overdose and was ordered to go to rehab.
He told Page Six earlier this month that he’s been sober — and celibate — for eight years.
