Filming on “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” arguably one of the most anticipated films of 2026, has been halted after its star, Tom Holland, suffered an injury on the UK set.
The Hollywood Reporter, which was first reported by The Sun, said that Holland has a “mild concussion” after the incident that happened last Friday.
A production source told Deadline that Holland is taking a break from filming in Glasgow “out of precaution,” but should resume filming in a few days. THR added that Sony, the studio behind the movie, is set to meet on Monday to determine how the production will continue.
While Holland could be off the set for days, he was still able to host a charity event at Christie’s auction house in London alongside his family and fiancée, Zendaya, according to photos of the event posted to social media.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is Marvel and Sony’s fourth film
Holland began his role as the web-slinging superhero back in 2016 in “Captain America: Civil War.”
Previously, Holland has been pretty tight-lipped about the plot of Marvel and Sony’s fourth film, telling Inverse that there was “some stuff going on” in the film that he was “excited about.”
“Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows?” he said. “But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.
Holland also told THR that he was a bit hesitant to begin filming “Brand New Day” as he wanted the film to live up to expectations.
“There’s a bit of a stigma about the fourth one in all franchises,” he said. “I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise, and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life.”
The film is set for a 2026 release.
