AMRV Councils set to announce grant funding for Madison County organizations

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Resource Conservation and Development Councils (AMRV RC&D), will be announcing grant funding for multiple organizations around North Alabama.

AMRV RC&D are non-profit organizations that are made up of volunteers who identify the unmet needs in their communities and create solutions.

At the announcement on Friday, October 3, Sen. Sam Givhan, Sen. Tom Butler, Sen. Steve Livingston, Sen. Wes Kitchens, Rep. Laura Hall, Rep. Ritchie Whorton, Rep. Andy Whitt, Rep. Rex Reynolds, Rep. James Lomax, AMRV Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council, grantees, local elected officials, and guests are expected to be in attendance.

According to the non profit, $139,246 in grant funding will be awarded to Madison County area organizations.

You can see a full list of where the funding is headed to below:

  • New Hope Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter/EMS Radio Upgrade ($15,868.00)
  • Huntsville – Madison County Rescue-Squad Inc. Unmanned Aircraft Upgrade ($5,000.00)
  • Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department RIT Pack ($6,722.00)
  • Legacy Elementary Legacy Outdoor Classroom ($10,000.00)
  • Whitesburg Middle School Whitesburg Middle School Outdoor Classroom ($10,000.00)
  • Alabama A&M University – ACES Urban AG in the People’s Patch ($23,000.00)
  • Riverton Elementary School Outdoor Classroom Sustainability Project ($15,000.00)
  • Alabama A&M University – ACES Exploring Birding in a Changing & Dynamic Climate ($5,504.00)
  • Alabama A&M Agribition Center Bulldog Express Concession Room Improvements ($8,496.00)
  • Alabama A&M University – CRD Programs Alabama Extension Skills on Wheels ($9,656.00)
  • Tennessee Valley Regional Partnership dba Launch Tennessee Valley Region Strategic Plan ($30,000.00)

The 10 a.m. announcement is scheduled to take place at Whitesburg Middle School 107 Sanders Road SW Huntsville, AL 35802.

AMRV Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) supports educational and community development projects in North Central Alabama. AMRV RC&D serves Cullman, Morgan, Madison, Limestone, Marshall, Jackson and DeKalb Counties.
