A 25-year-old man is facing felony charges after allegedly recording video of women changing inside the fitting rooms of a Target store in Thousand Oaks.
Jack Crawford, a resident of Thousand Oaks, has been charged with eight counts of invasion of privacy, authorities announced Friday.
On June 5, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Target in the 2700 block of Teller Road, just north of the 101 Freeway, after a woman was startled to see a cell phone camera appear over the wall of her fitting room.
“The victim yelled out, and the cell phone was suddenly pulled back over the wall,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies reviewed store surveillance footage, which led them to detain Crawford.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for his cell phone, which revealed footage of women changing in the same fitting rooms on May 12, June 2 and June 5, according to authorities. Crawford was arrested on Wednesday.
So far, eight victims have been identified, but authorities believe there may be more.
