Korean sales outfit Finecut has picked up international sales rights for road movie The Mutation, anthology film Time of Cinema and psychological thriller Wrangler, ahead of Busan‘s Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), which runs from September 20 to 23.

The Mutation is directed by Shin Su-won, who helmed Madonna (which premiered in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section in 2015), as well as Pluto and Hommage.

The film follows a Korean man who is ethnically Black, and a lesbian woman still holding onto memories of her ex-lover, embarking on a journey together. A bold turn of fate sets this unlikely pair on a path where shared wounds lead to belonging and reconciliation. The Mutation will premiere in the Vision section of the ongoing Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Finecut has also picked up Time of Cinema, which portrays the stories of those who see and make films, and the cinema that brings them together.

The film seeks to reflect on the value of cinema and pay homage to the creative process and communal experience of moviegoing. The anthology film is a collaboration between Lee Jong-pil (Escape), who directed the “Chimpanzee” section of the anthology; and Yoon Ga-eun (The World of Us), who contributed “Naturally.”

Time of Cinema screens in BIFF’s Panorama section this year, with the film presented by Korean arthouse film distributor Tcast.

Psychological thriller Wrangler follows a successful dog trainer whose controlled life falls apart, and she is unable to control her unpredictable sister.

Wrangler is the debut feature from director Seo Eun-sun, and the film stars Choi Seung-yoon (Riceboy Sleeps) and Kim Seung-hwa (Disney+’s Seoul Busters). The film has also been selected as the opening film in the Spotlight on Korea section at the Vancouver International Film Festival 2025.

Besides these three newly-unveiled titles, Finecut also has the international sales rights for action-comedy Boss and family drama Journey There, with the latter starring Kim Hye-ok (Phantom) and Justin H. Min (Beef, Umbrella Academy).
