A suspect was arrested after a stabbing attack left a man hospitalized in San Bernardino County.

The suspect was identified as Wade Bush, 60, of Colton, according to the Colton Police Department.

On Sept. 5, police responded to reports of a stabbing near Mt. Vernon Avenue and Centerpointe Drive in Colton.

Officers found the victim, a 46-year-old Colton man, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.

Following an investigation, authorities identified Bush as the primary suspect. After the murder, detectives discovered Bush had fled the area and was hiding at a friend’s house in Homeland.

On Sept. 17, police and SWAT Team members executed a search warrant at the home on the 2000 block of Butterfly Palm Drive. Bush was located at the property where he was arrested for attempted murder.

He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail. No further details, including the motive behind the attack or how the suspect and victim were known to each other, were released.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Anthony Orozco at 909-370-5020.
