As another ‘In Memoriam‘ leaves the inevitable few unmentioned, the late Hulk Hogan‘s ex-wife Linda recently called out the Emmy Awards.
Following the wrestling legend’s death at age 71 in July, when he suffered a heart attack, Linda ventured to guess that the Television Academy excluded him from Sunday’s awards show segment over his outspoken conservative politics, having spoken at last year’s Republican National Convention.
“I can’t prove that. It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!” she told Entertainment Weekly.
“WWF at the top of the hour when he came on to wrestle…[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years!” added Linda. “I really can’t tell you why they left him out… just a guess considering the way he was treated at his last appearance in LA.”
Following his RNC appearance and support of Donald Trump, Hulk earned boos during his surprise appearance on WWE’s Netflix debut in January.
In addition to his years as a WWF champ, Hulk had several movie and TV roles over the years, as well as his family’s VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best, which ran for four seasons from 2005 to 2007.
