Former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Eileen Davidson is under fire after publicly commenting on the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
“I am not in support of what happened to Charlie Kirk, but Charlie Kirk was in support of what happened to Charlie Kirk,” Davidson, 66, wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post to her 468,000 followers.
After receiving backlash under the post, Davidson clarified her statement — and urged her followers not to “twist things around.”
“Never ever in one million years would I celebrate the assassination of anybody, ever. Please don’t twist things around,” she wrote in a post on X.
Some commenters rushed to criticize the television star, known for her Emmy-winning roles on soap operas “Days of Our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless,” for backtracking on her views.
“But you did and then deleted it not realizing that the internet is forever. How dare you???!!!???” one commenter wrote.
“I stand by my post, sweetie,” Davidson responded.
Davidson appeared to be referencing a comment made by Kirk, 31, at a Turning Point USA Faith event in 2023, where he argued that gun-related deaths are necessary to protect the Second Amendment.
“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights,” Kirk said at the event, Newsweek reported at the time.
“That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe,” the Turning Point USA co-founder said.
Davidson has since reposted several videos and images on X about Kirk’s conservative commentary and polarizing debates.
“No, you didn’t celebrate it. You mocked it thinking you were making some profound political point. Extremely poor taste to say the least,” another commenter raged.
“Don’t be insipid Shayla,” Davidson fired back.
Some fans have backed up her critical views, with one blasting those who have “put on rose colored glasses over his death,” one user wrote under a Reddit post that has racked up nearly 800 comments and 60,000 upvotes.
“‘People know your heart,” another supporter wrote.
Davidson was a full-time “RHOBH” cast member in Seasons 5 through 7 before leaving in 2017. She appeared as a guest during Seasons 8 and 10.
Kirk had just answered a question from an audience member about mass shootings committed by transgender people during a Sept. 10 event at Utah Valley University when he was hit by a single shot.
The conservative influencer appeared to recoil in pain and grab at his neck as the shot rang out, sending thousands of spectators into a panic, dramatic video from the scene showed.
The alleged gunman was identified Friday as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah student who allegedly wrote “Hey fascist! Catch!” on a bullet.
