Though shot and made in Japan, Daisuke Obana‘s N.HOOLYWOOD SS26 collection draws inspiration from South Africa. The original campaign, photographed by Hisashi Iesaka, was released in landscape orientation to capture the wider scenery, evocative of a Safari excursion.
The theme is immediately recognizable in the first daytime looks, including a white Safari set belted at the waist, a grey tank paired with white hiking trousers, and technical fabrics printed with leopard-like spots. With the sun lowered over the horizon at Kirigamineski resort in Nagano Prefecture, Obana then introduces more urban-inspired styles like a faded denim trucker jacker, an oversized bright green check shirt, and striped tees with mismatched panelling.
At night, the darkest blacks and navy blues emerge. With a foundation of solid-colored numbers, including a saturated blue Safari set with contemporary tech details, more patterns also come into the mix. A white spiral print inspired by traditional African prints is seen in full-bleed on a t-shirt and shorts, while elsewhere, a geometric motif is printed on black pieces like trousers, shirting, and a jacket.
